KOKRAJHAR, April 19: The Kokrajhar district administration has stepped up strict measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the district.

Kokrajhar deputy commissioner Bhaskar Phukan informed that the number of Covid-19 positive cases in the district has gone up to 69 on Monday.

The administration raised awareness through loud speakers for raising awareness on regular use of masks.

Meanwhile, police in the district have geared up vigil to check mask wearing protocol among the citizens.

Some were also fined to the tune of Rs. 1000 for failing to wear masks.

A traffic police officer in Kokrajhar, Giyasuddin Ahmed informed that police have so far fined over Rs. 20,000 in the district for not using masks.
