Lucknow, Apr 19 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday evening held talks with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and got information about the status of Covid-19 in the state and the efforts being made by the state government to control the corona infection.
The Chief Minister apprised the Prime Minister that the State Government is working with full commitment to control the corona infection. Along with the availability of ICU beds for the prevention of Covid-19, a comprehensive testing strategy is being worked out by continuously supplying, tracking and testing of oxygen.
The Prime Minister received information from the Chief Minister about the RTPCR tests being conducted by private laboratories in the state.
In this regard, the Chief Minister informed that 104 private laboratories and 125 public sector laboratories are engaged in Covid test work in the state. In this context, more than 3 crore 84 lakh Covid Tests have been done so far. On April 18, 2021, more than 19,000 RTPCR tests have been done by private laboratories.
Yogi Adityanath also informed the Prime Minister that all the District Magistrates have been directed by the State Government to try to increase the RTPC testing capacity of private laboratories in their respective districts and also make full use of this capacity addition. The state government has also decided that if sufficient number of samples are not available with private laboratories for RTPCR examination, the district administration should send the samples compiled by government agencies to private laboratories for RTCPR examination. For this, private labs will be paid at the rate of Rs 500 per sample. In this regard, all concerned have been directed.
The Chief Minister also informed the Prime Minister that some selfish elements were making a frantic attempt to spread the rumor that private laboratories were not investigating Covid. Whereas the reality is contrary to this. So far, about 17 lakh Covid tests have been done by private laboratories in the state. Out of these, 8,84,330 RTPCR test, 3,18,278 TrueNet test and 4,98,372 rapid antigen test have been done in private labs. Testing work is being conducted by the state government as per the capacity of private labs. Information about this is also being given through the media.
He said that the state government will take action against those spreading the rumor.
