Bengaluru, Apr 19 (UNI) Karnataka has registered the highest ever single-day deaths attributed to the COVID-19 ever since it erupted in the state, as 146 people died of the pandemic in the last 24-hours in the state.
According to official sources, the total number of fatalities due to the pandemic surged to 13497 in the state as the state has reported 15785 fresh cases of the COVID-19 in the last 24-hours.
The sources said that among the total number of 146 fresh deaths, the state capital Bengaluru accounts for 97 followed by 11 fatalities in Gadag district.
The sources said that while the positivity rate for the day accounts for 12.81 per cent, the case fatality rate for the day was put at 0.92 per cet.
The sources said that in the last 24-hours as many as 7098 COVID-19 patients got discharged, after being completely recovered from the disease, as many as 721 persons are battling for life in ICUs at various hospitals.
In the last 24-hours as many as 123212 people had undergone the COVID-19 tests, including that of 9591 of the Rapid Antigen Detection tests, the sources added.
