Night curfew: Chennai Metro Rail changes last train timings

CHENNAI: Chennai Metro Rail will operate trains only till 9pm – instead of the present 11pm --from Mondays to Saturdays because of the night curfew imposed by the Tamil Nadu government to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
The services will be run at the usual peak hour frequency of five minutes and non-peak hour frequency of 10 minutes.
The last trip will commence from all terminals - MGR Central, Airport, St Thomas Mount and Wimco Nagar - between 8.55pm and 9.05pm and reach the terminals by 9.50pm.
The state government has announced a total lockdown on Sundays. CMRL officials said they were yet to decide on Sunday services.
