A study was done by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), showing the difference in the first and the second wave of COVID-19. The three major points that have been reflected are that the death rates are lower, there is no difference in the age profile and the major aspect that can be observed is the requirement of the oxygen cylinders which has drastically expanded. The claims which were made earlier that the younger people are affected more in the second wave is proved to be false, rather the ICMR studies reflect that there is no change in the age profile, older people are still more prone to this virus. One more thing that is very prominent is the shortness of breath has increased in the covid positive patients due to which the demand for oxygen cylinders has also increased.
