Delhi to be put under curfew for one week as Covid cases spike to record high

The national capital on Sunday recorded the biggest jump in its daily COVID-19 tally with 25,462 fresh cases, while the positivity rate shot up to 29.74 per cent -- meaning almost every third sample being tested in the city is turning out to be positive.

The chief minister on Sunday warned that the national capital is running out of hospital beds for Covid patients.
Taking into account the worsening Covid situation, the Delhi government is likely impose a complete curfew for one week starting from midnight today till next Monday morning.

The chief minister will announce the details in a press conference shortly.

Earlier, a weekend curfew had been imposed in Delhi.

The chief minister on Sunday warned that the national capital is running out of hospital beds for Covid patients. He also wrote a letter to the PM Modi urging immediate supply of oxygen and Covid beds.
