All ICUs occupied by Covid patients: TS Singh Deo tells Centre

RAIPUR: With 13,000 plus daily cases since early April, the situation continues to get grimmer in Chhattisgarh. Friday reported 14912 new cases and 138 Covid deaths. 

RAIPUR: With 13,000 plus daily cases since early April, the situation continues to get grimmer in Chhattisgarh. Friday reported 14912 new cases and 138 Covid deaths. 

In the review meeting with Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Chhattisgarh health minister TS Singh Deo informed that “all ICUs across the state are completely occupied by Covid patients and demanded the central government to provide 100 pre-fabricated ICUs so that we can build ICU infra in the shortest possible time. 
 

Briefing state’s Covid related situation over virtual meeting, TS Singh Deo said, the average infection rate of the state is 30%.  In 13 out of 28 districts of the state, it has been less than 20% but in eight districts it has been more than 40%. Currently, the number of active patients has been 1,24,000. He said, soon it is expected to cross 1.5 lakhs. “About 90% of the people in Chhattisgarh are in home isolation. If the active cases cross 2 lakh, 40,000 beds will be required , including oxygen-equipped beds. Singh Deo said.
