Huawei was able to eavesdrop on KPN mobile network - report

Monday 19 April 2021 | 09:12 CET | News
Huawei had free access to KPN's mobile network in the past and could eavesdrop on all conversations, writes the newspaper de Volkskrant citing a private report by Capgemini. It found that Huawei was able to eavesdrop on mobile numbers from the telecom provider in 2010, including the phones of then Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende, various ministers, and Chinese dissidents. Huawei also knew which numbers were tapped by police and intelligence services.
