Maharashtra Covid lockdown news live: State administers 1,27,079 vaccine in last 24 hours

On Sunday, Maharashtra saw its highest single-day addition of positive cases ever at 68,631, pushing the state’s overall total to 38,39,338. This was the fourth straight day of the state clocking over 60,000 positive cases. The state has recorded an average of 57,000 cases daily in April. The daily count of Covid-19 positive patients in Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) stood at 12,707 on Sunday. The progressive count was 7,22,476 cases. As many as 9,415 Covid-19 patients recovered and were discharged, taking the number of total recoveries to 6,07,597. The daily death count crossed the 100-mark as 116 casualties were reported on Sunday. The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has added around 1,000 Covid beds in the past week, but the availability of beds in both the civic and private hospitals remains a concern. Maharashtra administers 1,27,079 Covid-19 vaccine in last 24 hours

Maharashtra vaccinated 1,27,079 people in the last 24 hours against the Covid-19 in 1,515 sessions, informed the Maharashtra Health Department on Monday. With this, the total number of people vaccinated in the state touched 1,22,83,050. As per state government data, these include 10,67,486 HCWs who have taken the 1st dose and 5,42,627 HCWs who have taken the 2nd dose, 11,13,691 FLWs (1st dose), 3,67,965 FLWs (2nd dose), 87,86,940 first dose beneficiaries and 4,04,341 second dose beneficiaries of more than 45 years old. 5,749 new coronavirus cases in Nashik district, 40 die

The Covid-19 tally in Nashik district of Maharashtra rose to 2,63,770 with the single-day addition of 5,749 cases on Sunday, health officials said. The virus claimed the lives of 40 patients, which took the death toll in the district to 2,935, they said. So far, 2,22,368 patients have been discharged from hospitals following their recovery, of whom 4,913 recovered on Sunday alone. As many as 9,97,147 samples have been tested in the district so far, the officials said. (PTI)

Maharashtra tops 1m cases in 18 days; 503 new deaths a 7-mth record

Maharashtra added a million cases in a span of just 18 days in April, making it the fastest addition to the caseload seen thus far in the pandemic. The previous 10 lakh cases took 124 days, underlining the pace at which the infection has spread in the second wave. The state had added 5.93 lakh cases during the September peak last year. As for recoveries, PMC had maximum recoveries with 4,717 discharged patients, while PCMC had 2,318 recovered patients. The total number of recovered patients in rural areas was 1,860. In municipal councils, 401 Covid-19 patients recovered and 124 patients in cantonments.
