Numaish in Hyderabad: Exhibition Association returns stall holders’ deposits

Hyderabad: As Telangana increases in COVID-19 over the past few days, Numaish in Hyderabad is likely to wait indefinitely. Even the deposits collected from the stall holders were returned.

According to a report published in the Times of India, dr. B. Prabha Shankar, secretary of the Association of the All India Industrial Exhibition (AIIE) Society, said that according to the decision of the management committee, the deposit amounts of the stall holders were returned.

A member of the AIIE association said it had become very difficult to organize the Numaish as the number COVID-19 affairs rose in the state. Stallholders were also not happy about the excessive delay in the exhibition, he said.

Earlier, according to the usual procedure, the AIIE Association invited applications for stall holders and land allocated on the Numaish land due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, it was postponed, he added.

Stallholders demand that the deposit amounts be returned, as many of them have accepted it as a loan from the banks or private finance companies or individuals.

It can be mentioned that the 81st Numaish was scheduled to be held from January 1 to February 15 due to the pandemic.

COVID-19 sake in Telangana

Meanwhile, the state registered 4009 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total infection count to more than 3.55 lakh, while the toll rose to 1,788 with 14 more deaths, the government said Monday.

The Greater Hyderabad made the most cases with 705, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (363) and Nizamabad (360), it said in a bulletin with details from 18 April at 20:00.

The total number of cases in the state stood at 3 55333, while 1878 patients were cured, the total recovery was 3, 14, 441. The state has 39 154 active cases.

The death rate in the state was 0.51 percent, while it was 1.2 percent nationally. The recovery rate in Telangana was 88.46 percent, while it was 86 percent in the country.
