CHENNAI: Anna University on Monday directed all faculty members of engineering colleges in the state to conduct online classes from home from April 20.
Despite a direction from the Tamil Nadu government in this regard, many colleges were in a dual mode whether to allow their faculty members to take online classes from college or from their homes.
"The Tamil Nadu government has instructed to strictly adhere to the work from home guideline. Accordingly, it is informed that teaching staff members of Anna University, regional campuses, and constituent colleges, affiliated autonomous and affiliated non-autonomous colleges of Anna University are permitted to conduct classes pertaining to undergraduate, postgraduate and research scholars in online mode from April 20 onwards until further orders," Anna University registrar L Karunamoorthy said in a circular.
