Nashik, Apr 19 (UNI) Three people have been arrested by police for allegedly stealing Remdesivir injections from a private hospital in Gangapur Road area of the city.
On Saturday night, the three suspects, wearing PPE kits, stole a Remdesivir injection from the hospital.
When the theft came to the notice of hospital's administration, its administrative officer inspected the close circuit TV camera footage and lodged a complaint with the Gangapur police station alleging theft by a hospital employee wearing PPE kit.
During investigation, it was revealed that a hospital assistant and a ward boy along with the prime suspect were involved in the theft, following which, the the trio were arrested on Sunday.
The arrested accused have been identified as mastermind Vicky Varkhade, helper Sagar Sunil Mutekar and ward boy Ganesh Gangadhar Battise.
During interrogation, Vicky confessed to stealing a Remdesivir injection with the help of two employees of the hospital.
Police have seized two boxes of Remdesivir injections worth Rs 10,800 from the trio.
Police have registered a case in this regard and are conducting further investigation into the crime, sources added.
