West Bengal schools to remain closed till further notice: Edu minister

NEW DELHI: West Bengal education minister Partha Chatterjee on Monday announced that all the state government-run schools will remain closed from Tuesday till further notice due to the steep rise in Covid 19 cases. He further announced the early summer vacation amid the Covid situation in the state.
“All the state government-run schools will remain closed from tomorrow till further notice. Early Summer vacation has been announced, in view of the surge in COVID19 cases, West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee,” reports ANI.
A health bulletin released on Sunday said that the Covid-19 caseload reported has soared to 6,59,927 as the state registered its highest single-day spike of 8,419 fresh infections. Twenty-eight fresh fatalities pushed the coronavirus death toll in West Bengal to 10,568, it added.
