IPL 2021 Orange Cap: RCB’s Glenn Maxwell takes lead in Orange Cap leaderboard, Nitish Rana 2nd: With a 49-ball 78 against Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Glenn Maxwell shot to lead in the IPL Orange Cap leaderboard, surpassing Nitish Rana of KKR, who has scored 137 runs.
Glenn Maxwell now has two half-centuries, taking his tally to 176 in three innings. He has scored those runs at an average of 88.00 with a strike rate of 149.15.
Bairstow jumped to fourth place on the table with his excellent 43 against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. Meanwhile, Samson is placed third in the table which includes a brilliant 119 off 63 balls in the opening match against Punjab Kings. Manish Pandey, despite his failure against MI, is placed 5th on the IPL 2021 Orange Cap table.
Rules for IPL Orange Cap
- The award is given to the leading run-scorer of the IPL season.
- The batsman with the most runs in the tournament during the season would wear the Orange Cap while in the field.
- In case of a tie, the batsman with a better strike rate is awarded the Orange Cap.
- The Orange Cap owner who is fielding is allowed to wear the Orange Cap till the end of the innings even if an opposition batsman has overtaken his runs.
