Patan opts for 7-day self-imposed lockdown

Palanpur: With rising Covid-19 cases, the Patan district will go in for a self-imposed seven-day lockdown. The decision was taken after a meeting headed by district collector Supreet Singh Gulati and superintendent of police Akshay Raj Makwana with the representatives of traders’ association, municipalities, panchayats and doctors.
SP Makwana said that the self-imposed lockdown by the traders will begin from Tuesday. All shops selling essential commodities including grocery, milk, medicine, vegetable, fruits will remain open. Other essential services too will operate as usual.
Patan has been struggling against a rising number of Covid-19 cases since last fortnight. Leading trade unions have appealed to their members for co-operation in implementation of the self-imposed lockdown.
