Nepal tri-series: Venue

The setting of the tournament would be the picturesque Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in the beautiful city of Kirtipur, near the capital city of Kathmandu. The tri-series gets underway on April 17 and concludes with the final on April 24.

The Nepalese team for the series was announced recently and includes Sandeep Lamichhane, the young leggie who has become a star in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Nepal cricket team will be led by Gyanendra Malla.

The two foreign teams arrived in Nepal on April 13. The tournament will feature two rounds of matches, each team playing the two others twice, before the final.

While Nepal cricket team regularly makes an appearance in ICC U19 World Cups and has seen some of its players taking part in major T20 leagues around the world, Netherlands has been appearing on the global stage quite often. Malaysia is the relative dark horse in this contest but even it has a history in the cricket world.
