Maharashtra continues to remain the worst-affected state with as many as 67,123 new infections, 56,783 recoveries and 419 deaths reported on Saturday. The total number of positive cases in the state now stands at 37,70,707. There are 6,47,933 active cases at present and the death toll in the state has gone up to 59,970. The total number of recoveries have gone up to 30,61,174. As many as 8,834 cases were reported in Mumbai on Saturday. The total count of COVID-19 cases in Mumbai now stands at 5,70,832, with 87,369 active cases. Also, Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale informed that a self-sticking colour-coded policy will be implemented in three colours- red, green and yellow in order to limit vehicular traffic on Mumbai roads and to allow vehicles related to essential services with more ease amid COVID-19 restrictions.
Railways to transport oxygen from other states to Maharashtra
Railways have approved transportation of liquid medical oxygen in cryogenic tankers under its roll on roll off scheme across the country.

700 city motorists fined for violating lockdown rules in Mumbai
The Mumbai traffic police on Saturday penalised 701 motorists for violating lockdown guidelines. These included taxi and auto rickshaw drivers. Among the vehicles seized, 62 were two wheelers, 18 were three wheelers and 29 were four wheelers. As many as 197 motorists were penalised in the South region, followed by 185 in the Central region, 175 in East region and 145 in West region.
Father-son doc duo from Kalyan had taken 1st jab
The father-son doctor pair, Dr Nagendra Mishra and Dr Suraj Mishra, from Kalyan who died due to Covid-19 within hours of each other, had taken the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine last month. Read story here
