Delhi Capitals will lock horns with Punjab Kings in the match 11 of the Indian Premier League 2021 on Sunday at Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai. Both sides started their campaigns on a winning note and lost their last encounters.
Both sides will take the field to register their second win as both teams have a win and a loss. DC won the first match against Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets but lost the following game against Rajasthan Royals by three wickets in a low-scoring thriller. The Punjab Kings dropped their guard against CSK in their second game to go down by six wickets after their nail-biting four-run win in the opening match against Rajasthan Royals.
Delhi Capitals lost their last game to Rajasthan Royals. Capitals new skipper Rishabh Pant is in brilliant form, whereas Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw would want to continue their touch with the bat. Pant will be eager to put things right when he takes the field and the availability of Anrich Nortje will surely boost his confidence before going into the match. The bowling of Chris Woakes has been brilliant, whereas the arrival of Kagiso Rabada is a big boost for the side.
With the ball, DC are more suitably placed with Kagiso Rabada and Avesh Khan stepping up, Punjab Kings will rely on the experience of Mohammed Shami. While Arshdeep Singh has been impressive with his variations and mixing of pace and cricketing intelligence.
Punjab Kings lost their last game and would want to bounce back. KL Rahul and Chris Gayle have proved their form in the tournament, whereas Shahrukh Khan proved his finishing abilities in the last game. Deepak Hooda was the highest impactful player for Punjab Kings while Punjab’s opener Mayank Agarwal hasn’t really fired in IPL 2021.
However, they couldn’t replicate a similar result in their next game. Delhi Capitals are sitting fourth in the points table, while Punjab Capitals are languishing at seventh.
