3-year-old Jamayla’s daycare friends honor her life


NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – Neighbors held one other vigil for the three-year-old woman killed in North Nashville Monday evening, this time with all her daycare friends.

At first look, it did not appear to be a memorial. Pink and purple balloons dotted the sky, 4 of which spelled out ‘BINK,’ three-year-old Jamayla’s nickname. Her favourite Disney characters confirmed up, youngsters have been laughing and hula hooping. “I wanted to do it for Jamayla,” Kareale Duncan mentioned. “This was the things we did. We worked chalk, bubbles. She loved lip gloss.” Duncan was her daycare instructor and knew Jamayla her complete life.

‘When she first began crawling, strolling, speaking,” Duncan recalled. “I potty skilled her. I taught her the way to say her first and final identify.”

Jamayla died Monday night after she was caught in the crossfire of a shootout, a reality Duncan and her neighbors are still trying to come to terms with. “Jamayla got here to daycare that Monday morning,” Duncan said. “It’s very, very unhappy tragic.”




 

Metro Police have arrested a person in reference to the deadly taking pictures of a 3-year-old on the Cumberland View public housing growth on Monday evening.

 

Friday, although, was for the youngsters.

“They’re like ‘Jamayla not coming back. Butter coming back, Jamayla gone to heaven,'” Duncan mentioned. She pointed to a bench being rebuilt. “That’s the bench we’d have our snacks on. That was our bench.”

At the top of the evening, neighbors launched the purple and pink balloons into the sky round her bench.

“Jamayla was a very lovable girl.”
