Noida: Working of the industrial development authorities in Gautam Budh Nagar has once more got disrupted due to the pandemic. Nearly two dozen employees of Noida and
Yamuna Expressway authorities have tested positive for
Covid-19 and at least 80 other staff have isolated themselves.
At special screening camps organised last week, nine employees of
Noida Authority and one dozen staffers of the Yamuna Expressway Authority were detected with the infection, TOI has learnt.
“For every employee who tests positive, at least four to five other staffers who work closely with them are asked to take preventive measures. Moreover, staff members have been asked to work remotely as far as possible by carrying the necessary files to their homes,” said Yamuna Authority CEO Arun Vir Singh.
In-charge of the public health department at Noida Authority, SC Mishra said the focus is back on carrying out sanitisation drives.
“Our manpower and resources are being dedicated to fight and contain the virus once again. On Saturday itself, sanitisation and fumigation drives were conducted across 69 sectors, 15 villages and 73 highrise group housing societies in Noida. A total of 157 locations were covered on Saturday and we are aiming to sanitise more than 200 locations on Sunday,” he said.
The Greater Noida Authority has not organised a camp yet. However, it has restricted the entry of visitors to its office and is only allowing individuals who have a prior appointment. The officers are also holding meetings through video-conferencing.
