Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its bulletin that the southwest monsoon will be normal or above normal in Telangana this year.
The director of the IMD, dr. K Nagaratna, the Siasat Daily said the Telangana state will see normal or higher rainfall during the current season.
In its 2021 weather forecast bulletin, the IMD said the Telangana state is likely to see more than normal rainfall during the current season with a 35-55 percent probability.
It further added that the state had also seen above normal rainfall the previous year and that there would not be much difference either. The southwest monsoon in the country is most likely normal with 96% to 104% of the average average period.
“In August, there will be a surplus rain across the state and the forecast for the four regions in the country for the months of June-September, including the southern peninsula under which Telangana falls, will be released at the end of May,” the director of IMD.
