Mumbai,Apr 17 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) General Secretary and Spokesperson Sachin Sawant on Saturday said that the state government has received information that the Centre has ordered companies exporting Remedesivir not to supply injections to Maharashtra and threatened to revoke their licenses if they violated the order.
This is very cruel and horrible and this step of Modi government is a disgrace to humanity.
In his statement issued by office of MPCC Mr Sawant raised a question how many people of Maharashtra will the Modi government sacrifice for the sake of power.
Explaining the stand of the Congress party in this regard, Sawant said that the Modi government is using the Corona crisis as a political opportunity.
While the central and state governments are expected to work together to address this humanitarian crisis, the Modi government is constantly trying to get the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi government in trouble.
At the same time, the Union ministers have taken on the role of trolls to discredit the Maharashtra government. Medical equipments are not supplied to Maharashtra on time and in sufficient quantity.
Apart from this, Maharashtra is also being meted out injustice by Modi government in the supply of vaccines and oxygen.
Against this backdrop, there can be no more inhumane government if the central government is arm twisting the remedicivir manufacturing companies so that Maharashtra does not get Remdesivir injections now. Sawant said that the MPCC is strongly condemning this abhorrent politics of Modi government.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Chief Minister called the Prime Minister's Office and demanded supply of oxygen and Remedesivir to the state, but he was informed that the Prime Minister was busy with the West Bengal election campaign, Mr Sawant added.
