Nagpur: Four people tested positive during a joint drive launched by the police and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation on Saturday to keep a tab on those moving out of their houses without any reason.
A rapid antigen test was conducted on 21 people in the first hour of the launch at Old Katol Naka and the positive were driven to an institutional quarantine centre by the police. Those negative were advised to go in for an RTPCR test at the earliest.
The drive, which kicked off late, picked up pace soon and is to be held in four other parts of the city too. At Old Katol Naka, zonal DCP Vinita S supervised the police action. NMC staff from the health department were helping in the testing process.
Earlier in the day, CP Amitesh Kumar too was present at the spot to supervise the checking which has been stepped up in the last 24 hours.
Quick response team (QRT) commandos were deployed along with cops from Gittikhadan police station and traffic wing. DCP Special branch Basavraj Teli too was present at the Old Katol Naka.
