India on Friday reported 2,17,353 new cases of Covid-19, taking the total tally to 1,42,91,917. According to the Union Health Ministry, the active cases in the country have surpassed the 15-lakh mark. Amid the surge in Covid cases, states and union territories have imposed fresh restriction to curb the spread of infection.
Several states have decided to bring back strict Covid-19 curbs like night curfews and weekend lockdowns in a bid to cut the chain of transmission in the second wave of Covid-19.
Here’s a full list of restrictions imposed in different states and union territories across the country:
MAHARASHTRA
- Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday declared a 15-days curfew in the state, starting 8 pm on April 14. The janta curfew will remain in effect till 7 am on May 1.
- Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) will be imposed throughout the state to prevent gatherings.
- All establishments, public places, activities, services shall remain closed. This however exempts essential services, including medical stores, hospitals, supply of medicines, among others.
- Services and activities mentioned in 'essential category' are exempted and their movements and operations will continue unrestricted.

DELHI
- Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced a weekend curfew in the national capital. The weekend curfew will be enforced from 10 pm on Friday till 6 am Monday.
- Only essential services will be exempted from the weekend curfew.
- All markets, malls, spas, swimming pools and gyms will remain shut, while cinema halls have been permitted to operate at 30 per cent seating capacity. Dine-in restaurants have been closed for the time being and only home delivery will be allowed.
- Interstate transport will continue.
- The Delhi government will issue curfew passes for wedding (up to 50 people) and funeral (up to 20 people).
- Only one weekly market will be allowed each day per zone. There would be no restriction on the transportation of essential and non-essential goods.
- The DDMA said public transport, including metro, buses, autorickshaws and taxis, will remain functional within the stipulated time.

RAJASTHAN
CHANDIGARH
- The Chandigarh administration announced a weekend lockdown in the Union Territory from 10 pm on Friday till 5 am on Monday.
- Essential services, including home delivery of food, have been exempted.
- People travelling to the Union Territory will have to register themselves on the COVA Punjab app.
UTTAR PRADESH
MADHYA PRADESH
- The Madhya Pradesh government called the restrictions a part of “cornoa curfew” rather than a “lockdown”.
- Essential services, including industries, medical establishment, construction activities, chemist shops, grocery outlets etc, will remain operational during corona curfew.
- RT-PCR test must for passengers arriving from Maharashtra to Indore and Bhopal.
KARNATAKA
- Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa in a covid-19 review today said that the night curfew imposed in seven districts, including Bengaluru, will continue.
- Night curfew has been imposed between 10 pm and 5 am in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Kalaburagi, Bidar, Tumkuru, Udupi, and Manipal.
- Negative RT-PCR report mandatory for people arriving in Karnataka from Chandigarh, Kerala, Punjab, and Maharashtra.
PUNJAB
- The Punjab government has imposed a night curfew across the state from 9 pm to 5 am till April 30.
- All public gatherings have been banned and schools have been shut.
UTTARAKHAND
- Amidst a surge in Covid-19 cases in Uttarakhand during the ongoing Kumbh Mela, night curfew has been imposed across the state from 10.30 pm till 5 am.
- Bus, auto-rickshaw, etc will operate with a 50 per cent seating capacity.
- Coaching centres, swimming pools and spas will be shut until further notice.
- A cap of 200 people imposed at all gatherings in the state.
HARYANA
- Haryana has imposed a night curfew in the state from 10 pm to 5 am, however no lockdown or weekend curfew has been imposed.
- All schools, colleges, coaching institutions, libraries and training institutes have been closed till April 30.
GUJARAT
- The Gujarat government imposed a night curfew from 8 pm to 6 am in 20 cities.
- Night curfew has been imposed in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Gandhinagar, Anand, Nadiad, Mehasana, Morbi, Dahod, Patan, Godhra, Bhuj, Gandhidham, Bharuch, Surendranagar and Amreli.
- A negative RT-PCR report is mandatory for those arriving in the state.
- SMC Covid-19 Tracker App a must for people travelling to Surat. They also have to fill an online self-reporting form.
ODISHA
KERALA
CHHATTISGARH
- In view of rising Covid-19 cases, Chhattisgarh government has imposed lockdown in Sukma and Durg till April 19.
- In Durg, the district borders will remain sealed, while entry to the district will only be allowed after producing an e-pass. However, shops selling essential items will be allowed to operate. Bank and post offices will be operational between 10 am to 1 pm.
- In Sukma, night curfew from 12 pm to 7 am has been imposed. Shops will be allowed to remain open from 7 am to 12 pm.
JAMMU AND KASHMIR
- The Jammu and Kashmir administration imposed a night curfew in eight districts, including Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua, Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam, Anantnag and Kupwara.
