2021 National Black Writers Conference Keynote Airs on C-SPAN

The theme of the 2021 National Black Writers Conference, “They Cried I Am: The Life and Work of Paule Marshall and John A. Williams, Unsung Black Literary Voices,” celebrated the life and works of the late Paule Marshall and the late John A. Williams.

C-SPAN Book TV airs the keynote conversation from the conference. Authors Lawrence Jackson and Mary Helen Washington discuss how the writings of Paule Marshall and John A. Williams relate to the social and political climate of today.
