Hyderabad: A panel of two judges of the Telangana High Court, consisting of Chief Justice Hima Kohli and Judge B Vijaysen Reddy, ordered Deputy Commissioner, Prohibition and Excise Division of Mahabubnagar, Syed Yasin Quereshi, on Friday to arrest at least 20 people for a week in to feed the mosque in the area. to break the Ramzan quickly.
The panel dealt with a contempt appeal filed by the officer. Despite the court’s orders, the panel was not satisfied with the officer’s statement for the delay in responding to a representation for three months. However, the panel accepted the officer’s unqualified apology and ordered him to participate in social service for a week as prescribed.
The officer was ordered to submit the report on social services in the absence of which the Supreme Court Register has to take the case to court.
ULB Polls: Case Reserved for Orders
Judge Abhishek Reddy of the Telangana High Court on Friday reserved a written petition following the April 15 notice by the Telangana State Electoral Commission, which approved the election program for municipal corporations Warangal, Karimnagar and municipalities of Siddipet, Atchampet, Nakrekoth and Kadurla, Jadcherla. Doctor slaps on daughter maintenance
The same panel came down badly on Friday and questioned a shameful act by a father who agreed to pay maintenance to the daughter under conditions. The panel dealt with a case brought by L Sudha Rani, a doctor in the city, against a decision of the family court. On the last occasion, the panel ordered the petitioner and her husband, Dr G Gangadhar Rao, to achieve pleasant maintenance. At a virtual hearing on Friday, Dr Rao appeared that he was ready to pay his daughter maintenance only if she was willing to remain in his custody.
The Chief Justice expressed serious dissatisfaction with the attitude of Dr Rao. She said: ‘You are obliged by law to pay maintenance and you cannot set conditions. Before expecting supervision, you must understand that the maintenance of your child is your duty. ‘The panel acknowledges the case and postpones it for further hearing.
