“Awareness On Importance Of Science Education In Tribal & Schedule Caste Populated Schools In Kakching And Chandel District, Manipur”

Centre for Rural Empowerment & Development Organization (CREDO) organized a Science exhibition cum interactive programme on the topic “Awareness On Importance Of Science Education In Tribal & Schedule Caste Populated Schools In Kakching And Chandel District, Manipur” under the sponsorship of NCSTC Division, Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India at Auditorium of Library & Information Center, Kakching on March 15 & 16, 2021 and Springdale School Thoma Memorial Hall, Komlathabi, Chandel on 18th and 19th March, 2021.

Programme was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Konsam Himalay Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM(Retd), Former Chairman, Manipur Public Service Commission and President, K. Jadu Singh, Social Worker as Chief Guest, Dr. Kh. Ibohal Singh, Associate Prof. & HoD, Department of Entomology, CAU, Imphal and Shri Joykumar Singh, Secretary, Library & Information Centre, Kakching as Guest of Honours.

CREDO giving such learning opportunities to more than 600 students of kakching and chandel district with various activities like Science exhibition and demonstration, Mathematics puzzle, Mathematics Talent hunt, on spot painting competition, Quiz competition, essay competition & Ex- tempo speech were organized. There were also sessions on interactive programme, open discussion & Science film show.

Awareness of science education in tribal & SC populated schools

The organizing committee also distributed prizes to winners and encourage the talent of the students. Shri M. Rameshwor Singh, Hon’ble MLA, Kakching A/C visited at Science Exhibition and encouraged at the works of the students. He was impressed by one of the model “Smart Irrigation System” presented by Ideal Public School.

In this programme we are promoting showcase innovation specially young mind of the state and provide a space were children can engaged, explore and innovate such that the whole fabric of science learning can be revolutionized for one & all and bring key concept out of text books into the physical world by experiential activities.
