WIPRO at 52 Week High; BSE 500 Index Up 1.0%

WIPRO share price has hit a 52-week high at Rs 468 (up 8.5%).

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 19,649 (up 0.8%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are WIPRO (up 8.5%) and DCM SHRIRAM (up 11.5%).

CORPORATION BANK (down 3.9%) and ANDHRA BANK (down 2.7%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, WIPRO has moved up from Rs 189 to Rs 468, registering a gain of Rs 278 (up 146.77%).

The BSE 500 has moved up from 11,674 to 19,649, registering a gain of 7,975 points (up 68.3%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GAS (up 1133.3%), INTELLECT DESIGN (up 854.7%) and ADANI ENTERPRISES (up 708.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 49,049 (up 0.5%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ULTRATECH CEMENT (up 3.1%), ASIAN PAINTS (up 2.8%) and M&M (up 2.5%). Other gainers include HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 2.2%) and POWER GRID (up 1.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are BHARTI AIRTEL and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 14,684 (up 0.7%). WIPRO (up 8.9%) and ADANI PORTS & SEZ (up 4.3%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 30,690 to 49,049, registering a gain of 18,359 points (up 59.7%).

WIPRO Financial Update...

WIPRO net profit stood at Rs 30 billion for the quarter ended December 2020, compared to a profit of Rs 25 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 1.3% to Rs 156.7 billion during the period as against Rs 154.7 billion in October-December 2019.

For the year ended March 2020, WIPRO reported 8.4% increase in net profit to Rs 97.7 billion compared to net profit of Rs 90.2 billion during FY19.

Revenue of the company grew 4.2% to Rs 610 billion during FY20.

The current Price to earnings ratio of WIPRO, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 26.1x.
