Roger Stone Backs Mike Lindell's Site Frank, Says Communists, Vegetarians Welcome
Conservative consultant and campaigner Roger Stone promoted MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell's upcoming social media platform on Thursday.
In a video shared to Parler, a separate "free speech" website popular among right-wing personalities and supporters of Donald Trump, Stone said he "can hardly wait" for the new service, known as Frank, which is set to launch to the public on April 19.
Speaking from a site that lets users post without censorship or bans, Stone said Frank would "be different because conservatives, republicans, Christians, libertarians and just free thinkers will not be censored or banned."
Stone, who was a close Trump adviser and ally, noted: "In fact, No one will. So it doesn't matter whether you are a communist, a socialist, a liberal, conservative, a progressive, a libertarian or even a vegetarian, everybody will be allowed. I, for one, can hardly wait."
His statement was false. Lindell has previously said the platform will have restrictions in place that will keep at least some people from taking part, revealing that swear words, adult content and "taking God's name in vain" are all off-limits for users.
Parler analytics suggested Stone's video upload was viewed about 20,000 times as of Friday. It received more than 300 upvotes, Parler's version of Twitter likes.
It's unclear what the website Frank actually is, and what it will look like on launch day. Lindell has recently pitched it as an ultra-secure hybrid of YouTube and Twitter with dedicated servers and the capacity to maintain more than a billion users.
But it is unknown exactly who is responsible for back-end infrastructure, who has put money into the project and how many people it will be able to attract and retain.
VIP access was initially teased as starting in the early hours of Friday this week but it is still offline at the time of writing, with the domain only showing a placeholder page and a short video. On Telegram, some Lindell fans were left confused by the delay.
On Thursday, Lindell said in an appearance on Steve Bannon's War Room podcast that the VIP access—with codes sent to submitted phone numbers—would in fact roll out "sometime on Friday" to provide three days of exclusivity before launch.
He said: "If you don't get on by midnight obviously you can still get signed up, but you just won't have full access to the site until Monday morning. At 9 a.m., we are opening with the biggest surprise you are going to see, this will be breaking news."
According to Lindell, who was banned from Twitter in late January for spreading voting misinformation, next Monday will include guests talking about free speech and the First Amendment, while Tuesday will open up with a showing of his new documentary.
