Delhi CM Kejriwal to chair a meeting today on COVID-19 situation in national capital

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold a meeting over the prevailing Covid-19 situation in Delhi.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is going to chair a meeting today in a view to take up the discussion over the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the national capital. Also, State Health Minister Satyendra Jain and other presiding officers will also be present in the meeting, reports ANI.

Well, in the national capital, the total number of cases stands at 7,67,000. On Wednesday, Delhi reported 17,282 new cases, which is considered to be the highest single-day spike since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.

Furthermore, Delhi CM Kejriwal held a meeting on Sunday and he appealed to the people not to step outside unless it’s necessary. In addition to this, as there’s been observed a shortage of beds in the hospitals, CM Kejriwal has requested the civilians to quarantine themselves at their rooms only, if the situation is not so grave.

Delhi is now one of the worst hit Covid-19 cities in India as it has got after Mumbai in the daily tally. After the night curfew, recently, the Delhi government had to go for a weekend lockdown from Friday 10 pm till Monday 6 pm till the 30th of April and further announcements in order to take a grip over the cavalier rates of the Coronavirus.

In addition to this, the Delhi government has ordered the restaurants, hotels, or bars to function with 50% of the capacity plus the government is also going to monitor the throngs at weekly markets. It will be observed if the Covid-19 norms are being adhered to or not.
