A weekend curfew will be in force in the national capital on Saturday and Sunday (April 17 and 18) and in view of that, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday (April 16) said that it has made changes in the frequency of metro trains that will be operated over the weekend.
In a tweet, the DMRC informed that metro services will be available with a headway of 15 minutes over the weekend.
“In view of the curfew imposed by the Government for coming weekend for the containment of Covid-19, Metro services will be available with a headway of 15 min across the whole network on the weekend i.e, on 17th and 18th April 2021,” DMRC’s tweet read.

Meanwhile, there will be an increase in the waiting period on the Blue and Green line corridors, which also has a bifurcation.
“The two sections, where there is a bifurcation in the network i.e, Noida/Vaishali section of Blue Line and Kirti Nagar/Inderlok section of Green Line, the headway will become double i.e. services will be available after every 30 minutes in these sections,” DMRC wrote in another tweet.

The Delhi government on Thursday ( April 15) announced a weekend curfew in the national capital from 10 pm on Friday to 5 am on Monday to contain the spread of the virus.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that the curfew is in place for just this weekend and decision on next weekend will be taken next week.
