Representational image/ file Class 10th, 12th Board Exam 2021 Updates: After the Education Ministry postponed the CBSE class 12 exams and cancelled class 10 exams, other states have followed the suit. In two days, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and other states have decided to review the situation later for class 12 board exams. However, states like Kerala and Karnataka are firm on their decision to conduct board exams.
The CISCE has decided to postpone class 12 exams and the final decision will be made after assessing the situation in the first week of June. Meanwhile, National Testing Agency has postponed UPCET and JEE Main (April) 2021, which was scheduled to be conducted from April 27-30.
On Thursday evening, Health Ministry postponed NEET PG which was to held on April 18. Therefore, the schedule of NEET-UG 2021 is unlikely to release soon. Jammu Kashmir board and Odisha too have deferred board exams. In Punjab, students of classes 5, 8 and 10 are to be promoted without taking any exam.

The revised dates for the JEE (Main) – 2021 April session will be announced later on and at least 15 days before the examination. “Looking at the present situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well-being of the candidates and examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone the JEE (Main) – 2021 April Session,” read the official announcement by the NTA. Chhattisgarh Board postponed Class 10 exams this week. However, Class 12 exams will held as per the schedule. CGBSE Secretary Prof VK Goyal said in a statement that a circular claiming Class 12 exam is cancelled is going viral. He said it is fake and students should not get confused. Class 12 Board exam will begin from May 3 and will end on May 24. The examination will be held offline.
The CISCE said while the Class XII examination would be conducted at a later date, the “candidates for the ICSE (Class X) examination will be given options” to either “write the offline examination along with Class XII candidates” or “not to write the offline examination”. Read more
Amid rising cases of COVID-19, Tripura government Friday announced to suspend classes in schools, colleges and universities including professional education colleges and institutes from April 17 for an indefinite period. Meanwhile, this decision will not affect the ongoing examinations at schools, colleges and universities would remain unaffected. Read more
The CISCE has provided the class 10 students with the choice to appear for the offline exams, if and when the new schedule is released. Those students who will choose not to appear for the exams will be evaluated on an objective criterion, which will be developed by the board. Read more
The latest notification by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), class 12 board exams stand postponed. The final decision on class 12 exams will be taken in the first week of June. Class 10 students will have a choice to either appear or not appear for offline exams.

Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) today posted on their website that practicals tests of classes 10 and 12 have been postponed due to the rising COVID-19 cases in the state. The JAC had started the practical exams for Classes 10 and 12 on April 6. However, decision on the theory examinations is awaited.
Unlike Telangana, Andhra Pradesh has no plans to defer exams. Minister for education, Audimulapu Suresh recently tweeted that Class 10 exams will be held in the state as scheduled which is between June 7 and 16
While education experts have shown concern on the postponement of board exams, students are happy and at the same time concerned about college admissions. Some of them have requested the ministry to cancel class 12 exams and postpone the competitive exams as well.
