Covid-19: Telangana also has too little oxygen

Hyderabad: E. Rajender, Minister of Health of Telangana, acknowledged on Friday that there is a shortage of medical oxygen in the state and that the government has taken all steps to address the problem caused by the massive Coid-19 boom, at times.

The health department has ordered Gandhi Hospital to suspend outpatient services from Saturday. The hospital was also told to stop all elective surgeries.

According to officials, a Covid patient approaches Gandhi Hospital every ten minutes. On Thursday 150 Covid patients were admitted. Currently there are more than 450 Covid patients are treated in the hospital.

Gandhi Hospital is the largest state-run tertiary care hospital in the state. Last year it served as a state Covid button center and as a Covid only facility. By the end of last year, other patients began treatment after the pandemic was under control.
