For the Telugu film industry, after Sankranti, summar is the biggest season for movie releases. Last year’s summer season was a nightmare as Corona was at its peaks. Now all the hopes are on this summer and many small, medium and big budget movies were kept in line for release.

Last year’s summer season was a nightmare as Corona was at its peaks. Now all the hopes are on this summer and many small, medium and big budget movies were kept in line for release. However, this time as well the Corona has started its spread and people are easily contracting the virus.

This kept the makers of the upcoming movies in dilemma. Though in the april first week ‘Vakeel Saab’ opened grandly into the theaters, the movies that were supposed to be released later in april were postponed citing the upsurge in corona cases. Also, the government restrictions over the ticket pricing became a headache for the distributors.

Meanwhile, on 16 april Shekar Kammula’s ‘Love Story’ was supposed to be released followed by 23rd ‘Tuck Jagadish’ and 30th ‘Virataparvam’. However, all these three movies were postponed their release dates and the official announcement from the respective movie makers were out as well.

Also, in May the much-anticipated ‘Acharya’ starring chiranjeevi and ram charan in the lead roles was supposed to be released on 13 May followed by Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda’ on 28th May. These two big movies will obviously change their release dates too. We have to wait and see when this corona pandemic will settle down and when these big releases will take place.
