Plus-2 practical exams begins by following COVID SOPs

Chennai, Apr 16 (UNI) The practical examinations for Plus-2
students of State board schools began on Friday across
Tamil Nadu, by strictly adhering to the covid protocols.
The examinations continue till April 23, and the students
will sit for the board examinations from May 5.
Yesterday, officials, including School Education Secretary
Dheeraj Kumar and Health Secretary Dr J.Radhakrishnan,
held a meeting and discussed about the possibility of
postponing the Class 12 board exams.
School Education Department officials said the practical
examinations would be held as per schedule.
The Directorate of Government Examinations has already
issued Standard Operating Procedures for the conduct of
the practical examinations.
Students and school staffs should compulsorily wear face
masks and the premises should be sanitised.
The labs will also be disinfected after every batch of students
completes the examinations.
Students who test positive for COVID-19 will be allowed to
take the examinations later.
After the postponement of the CBSE Class-12 public exams
scheduled to begin in May, Teachers’ associations have
urged the State government to postpone the State board
examinations, in view of the sharp rise in COVID-19 cases.
More than eight lakh students will sit for the Class 12 board
examinations.
