Pakistan restricts access to social media platforms

Telenor Pakistan has announced that social media platforms have been temporarily suspended in the country in line with a directive of the relevant authority. The Pakistani Ministry of Interior has directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to temporarily block access to social media platforms Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube and Telegram on 16 April from 11:00 hours to 15:00 hours.
