About the Author

The two brothers signed onto their first expedition in 1978 to locate a 17th-century Spanish galleon that was lost on a reef known as Silver Shoals, eighty miles north of Hispaniola in the Caribbean. That decision changed the course of both of their lives, from their intended professions as an attorney and a doctor to commercial divers and adventurers who have participated in and led more than twenty expeditions from the Alaskan Arctic to Florida and from the Caribbean to Japan and the Philippines. Marc and Krist have been credited with the discovery of an early 12th-century Chinese (Sung Dynasty) shipwreck in the South China Sea, colonial period Spanish, British, and American ships in the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic Ocean, and Imperial Japanese shipwrecks from World War II. They have converted some of their discoveries to successful recoveries, resulting in museum collections of shipwreck artifacts. As business partners, they have converted many of their failed expeditions to innovations as co-inventors of ten international and U.S. patents, some of which were licensed to a Fortune 100 company. They also co-authored the self-help/adventure book Finding Your Treasure Without Losing Yourself.
