New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI) The national anti- terror probe agency NIA on Thursday filed second supplementary charge-sheet before Ranchi Special Court against 18 accused persons in a case related to the killing of five Jhakhand Police personnel in June 2019.
The accused Sunil Tudu, Budhram Mardi aka Budhuram Mardi, Shriram Manjhi, Naresh Lohar aka Ramu Lohar, Alamgir Ansari, Lakhan Sardar, Joshep Purty akaTipu, Annem Hassa Purti aka Anem Hassa Purty, Tabarak Ansari, Mangal Topno aka Lalu Sardar, Soyna Singh Sardar aka Motu, Jitrai Munda aka Jitram, Boyda Pahan, Rakesh Munda aka Sukra Munda, Naina aka Birsha Birohar, Maharaj Pramanik aka Raj Da, Amit Munda, aka Sukhlal Munda and Anal Da aka Ramesh, all residents of Jharkhand have been booked under sections 120B, 147, 148, 149, 302, 353, 396, 435, 121, 121A, 122 of Indian Penal Code, Sections 16, 17, 18, 20, 38, 39 and 40 of The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, Section 25(1B), 27 of the Arms Act and Sections 4 and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908.
The case pertains to deadly attack on the Police patrolling party by the cadres of CPI (Maoist), at around 1630 hrs on June14, 2019 at Kukru Haat in District Saraikela-Kharswan of Jharkhand, in which five police personnel were killed and their arms and ammunition were looted.
An FIR No 16/2019 dated June 15, 2019 was registered under sections 147, 148, 149, 302, 353, 379 and 435 of Indian Penal Code, section 27 of Arms Act, 1959, section 17 of Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1908 and section 13 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 at PS Tiruldih police station under Saraikela-Kherswan and the State Police had filed charge-sheet against 11 accused.
NIA took over this case on December 2020 by re-registering a case as RC-39/2020/NIA/DLI and began the investigation.
The central probe agency investigation revealed that Anal Da aka Ramesh, a Central Committee Member and Secretary of Bihar Jharkhand Special Area Committee CPI (Maoist), in collusion with other leaders of CPI(Maoist), had conspired and planned the attack on the Police Patrolling Party at Kukru-Haat Bazaar.
“The recce of the place of incident was carried for around a month and final planning for execution was done at Arhanja forest on June 13,2019 and the Maoists had planned minute details and had carried out extensive rehearsals for the attack”, the probe agency said in the charge sheet.
The Investigation has also established that the plan was executed under the leadership of Maharaj Pramanik, a Zonal Commander of Bundu Chandil Sub Zone, who had also enlisted the help of over ground workers and sympathisers of CPI(Maoist), the charge sheet reads further.
The attack was carried out in order to loot the arms and ammunition, further strengthen their organization and also as a retaliation for the killing of one of their cadres namely Pradeep Swasi, by the security forces in that area, the NIA said, adding that further Investigation in this case continues
