Odisha board exams cancelled; students of classes 9 & 11 to be promoted

NEW DELHI: Due to Covid situation, the Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday ordered the suspension of all 10th & 12th board exams in the state. He further announced that all students of classes 9 and 11 in the academic year 2020-21 will be prompted to the 10th and 12th standards respectively without taking any exams.

“CM Naveen Patnaik orders suspension of all 10th & 12th board exams in the state in view of COVID situation. All students of Class 9 & 11 in the academic year 2020-21 will be prompted to the 10th and 12th standards respectively. They do not have to take any tests for this, says Odisha CMO” ANI reported.

In the last 24 hours, Odisha reported 2,267 new cases while in Bhubaneswar over 300 cases were detected on the day.


The Central Board of Secondary Education on Wednesday cancelled the class 10 examination and put off the class 12 exams. CISCE is yet to take a decision regarding ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) Year 2021 examinations.
