Hyderabad: Residents of Old City testify to power outage during Taraweeh prayer

Hyderabad: Due to rainfall, residents of the old city of Hyderabad on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning witnessed a power outage during Taraweeh and Sahari time.

Residents of several places like Chanchalguda, Hafiz Baba Nagar-A Block, Bandlaguda, Mehdipatnam, Nampally and Red Hills have repeatedly seen power outages for several hours.

Meanwhile, Amjadullah Khan Khalid, spokesperson for Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT), also complained that there was no power supply in the Chanchalguda area on Tuesday night.

The director of operations of Telangana State’s Southern Power Distribution Company (TSSPDCL), J Srinivas Reddy, said the disruption occurred due to heavy rainfall and wind. There was a minor problem with 55 out of 2500 feeders in the metro zone, he added.

Officials have been trying all night to solve the problem, he said.
