Corona curfew duration increased in UP: Schools, colleges closed till May 15

Lucknow, Apr 15(UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has increased the duration of night curfew in ten most corona affected cities in the state by two hours.
The government has also closed all educational institutions till May 15 and has postponed all exams, including the Boards.
These guidelines were issued by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath through video conferencing to Team-11 formed for effective control over Covid-19 here on Thursday.
Mr Adityanath said corona curfew will be effective from 2000 hrs to 0700 hrs in all 10 districts with more than 2000 active cases including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur Nagar, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Gorakhpur.
He has asked to implement this order with immediate effect. Presently Corona curfew is being enforced in these districts from 2100 hrs to 0600 hrs.

"Explain the importance of masks and sanitization to people. Necessary enforcement action should also be taken if people violate it," he said.
Talking about surge in the positive cases in Lucknow, the CM said arrival of patients from other districts in the capital Lucknow is natural." Therefore, there is a need to make additional arrangements here. KGMU and Balrampur Hospital should be prepared as fully dedicated hospitals. This work should be done in a phased manner. Convenience of non covid patients should be taken care of," he said while TS Mishra Hospital, Integral and Hind Medical Colleges in Lucknow need to be expanded as a dedicated Covid Hospital. In next two days provide additional beds in Lucknow.
The CM said with a view to prevent infection from Covid, schools of classes I to XII should be suspended till 15 May. There should no examination conducted during this period. The 10th and 12th examinations of the Secondary Education Council should be held after May 20. The new schedule of Boards would be considered in the first week of May.
With the proliferation of Covid-19, the return of migrant workers from different states is likely. Therefore, Quarantine centers should be operated in all districts as per Covid protocol. In quarantine centers, along with medical facilities, proper arrangements for food / sleeping etc. will be ensured.
Continuous monitoring of availability of Remedycivir and Oxygen useful for prevention of Covid. It should be reviewed daily from the Chief Secretary's Office and the Chief Minister's Office. In every case, it should be ensured that there is no lack of these essential things in any hospital of any district of the state.
The CM said the testing work should be conducted at full capacity. " Increase the number of RTPCR tests by using the available RTPCR capability in the laboratories of the central institutes located in the state. Manpower should also be arranged according to the requirements of these institutions. It would be useful to use TruNet machines for covid test", he said.
