Freedom fighter Sadashiv Rao Bhosle dies at 101

Belagavi, Apr 15(UNI) Centenarian freedom fighter and veteran Gandhian Sadashiv Rao Bhosle, a close associate of Vinoba Bhave died on Thursday here due to old age-related ailments.
He celebrated his 101st birthday just a few months ago. He breathed his last at his residence in Kodoli village in the Belagavi district.
He is survived by a son and a daughter.
Influenced by Vinoba Bhave, he donated almost 100 acres of his ancestral land to landless and lived in a home he and his spouse constructed on a one–acre plot on the outskirts of the village. He lived a simple life selling khadi and farming.
He was a member of the assemblies in 1945 and 1952. He resigned in 1955, saying the elected governments weren’t doing sufficient for the poor.
