After scoring 80 off just 56 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first match, he followed that up with a fantastic 57 off 47 against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday. With his 2nd consecutive half-century, he moved to the top of the Orange Cap leaderboard with 137 runs, surpassing Sanju Samson’s 119.

Rana has been in prime form in domestic cricket. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the Delhi batsman scored 398 runs in seven matches including a century and two fifties.
The fact that he was doubtful for the first match and the whole tournament after testing positive for COVID-19 before he joined the KKR camp has made the achievement even better. Days before the IPL 2021 began, Nitish Rana recovered from COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals skipper, Sanju Samson, hit a brilliant 119 off 63 balls to move to the second of Orange Cap leaderboard. With 38 runs against RCB on Wednesday, Manish Pandey moved to the 3rd spot on the Orange Cap leaderboard with 99 runs.
RCB’s Glenn Maxwell with 59 runs against SRH climbed to the 4th spot with 98 from two matches. he is followed by Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul with 91 runs.
