New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI) The national capital on Thursday reported 16,699 new cases of COVID-19 while 112 people lost their lives.
The new additions took the national capital's caseload to 7,84,137 and the death toll soared to 11,652. The city's positivity rate is 20.22 per cent.
As many as 82,569 people were tested in the past one day. The recovery rate has now decreased to 91.58 per cent even as 13,014 were cured and discharged in past 24 hours.
Currently, there are 15,266 COVID patients under home isolation across the city who are mostly asymptomatic or with very mild symptoms.
The number of active cases are 54,309 which includes patients under home isolation. Containment zones are 8,661.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a weekend curfew in Delhi to contain the spread of the virus. According to the directives, essential activities, including weddings, will be allowed with curfew passes. Auditoriums, malls, gyms and spas will be shut down and cinema theatres will be allowed with a third of the capacity.
