NEW DELHI: India with over 14 million
Covid-19 cases has become the second worst-hit country in the world behind the US.
The
pandemic, which was first reported in the country in January last year, within months spread across the country.
As per the latest reports, the cases were rising in all the 28 states and 8 Union territories of the country.
Maharashtra remained the worst affected state with over a quarter of the total cases in the country.
The worst impact of the virus has been felt in the southern part of the country. four of the five worst-hit states — Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh — are from south India.
