YAMUNANAGAR: The police have arrested three including two woman in a case of sexual assault and exploitation of a 14-year-old minor girl, who has been allegedly assaulted by several persons at different times. Presently she is about 5-month pregnant.
The police said that the arrested accused have been identified as main Riya alias Rita, her husband Sonu and another woman Pooja alias Shalu.
Gandhi Nagar police station house officer (SHO) sub-inspector (SI) Jasbir Singh said, "All three accused were produced in the district court on Thursday, which granted four-day police remand of Sonu, five-day of Riya and sent accused Pooja to the judicial custody."
As per the information, the survivor girl is a student of Class VI in a government school of Yamunanagar district and she lived thee with her parents in a rented house in a colony of Yamunanagar.
On the complaint of the father of the girl, the police had registered a case against a couple Riya alias Rita, her husband Sonu and unknown persons under Sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 372 (selling minor for purpose of prostitution), 376-DA (punishment for gang rape on woman under sixteen years of age), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 6 (punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault) and 17 (punishment for abetment) of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Gandhi Nagar police station on April 13.
The parents of the girl are working and the girl had been exploited by accused couple on their back.
In his police complaint, the father of the girl stated, “My daughter was not feeling well for several days. When my wife asked her about the problem, she disclosed the ordeal and all the incidents that had been happening with her on our back. I and my wife used to go out on work and Riya, who lived in our neighbour with her husband Sonu, used to call my daughter at their house. The girl told her mother that one day Riya and her husband Sonu took her in a room and locked her inside with a man, who sexually assaulted her.”
“After this, the accused couple used to take her on their vehicle to different places, where different people sexually assaulted her. The couple used to live in our neighbourhood and had now shifted to some other place. Riya had threatened my daughter of dire consequences if she disclosed about the incidents of sexual assault to anyone”, added the complainant.
“Presently my daughter is 5-month pregnant”, said the father.
Gandhi Nagar SHO SI Jasbir said that the investigation in this case is being done and further information would be revealed after the interrogation of the arrested accused.
