Industrial Mixers „All-in-one“Engineering Solution for Fertilizer Production
With their new Ploughshare Mixer KM, Lödige offers a solution for an „all-in-one“ production process for monocalcium phosphate (MCP), an essential component of feed and phosphate fertilizers.

To produce high-quality MCP, the process technology of the powder is just as important as the quality of the raw materials used. Lödiges’ new process solution is designed for this application.
Based on a type KM, their new Ploughshare Mixer for continuous operation uses Lödiges’ standard mechanically generated fluid bed system. The shovels of the Mixer rotate close to the walls of the horizontal, cylindrical drum. The shape and circumference speed of the mixing-tools are designed to pick up the raw materials completely and throw them into the free mixing compartment. The material is then lifted off the drum wall, generating a mechanical fluid bed, in which the mixture is constantly gripped and therefore thoroughly mixed.
Additional choppers break up agglomerated material and allow the systematic granulation of the monocalcium phosphate. Moreover, the mixing elements are shaped to ensure product transport
An economically favorable solution
Usually, the production of MCP involves three different phases. By combining all these process phases into one single machine, Lödige aims to offer an economically favorable solution. According to the producer, the new industrial mixer offers high stability and minimized cleaning intervals. Mixing tools and shovel arms are being protected from mechanical and corrosive stress by a special wear protection.
Lödige offers a variety of different machine sizes for the type KM Ploughshare Mixer. Sizes range from 1 t/h up to 50 t/h.
