
CBSE Board Class 10, 12 Exam Date 2021 News Update: Amid mounting pressure over the Centre to postpone the CBSE Board exams scheduled for next month, the Education Ministry, after consultation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, decided to postponed class 12 exams. The ministry will review the situation on June 1 to decide fresh dates. However, the ministry has cancelled class 10 exams.
Earlier, sources in the Education Ministry had told The Indian Express that holding the examinations on time seems “difficult”, given the increase in fresh infections. CBSE’s offline examinations are scheduled to begin on May 4.

Opposition leaders such as Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi have been appealing to the Centre to postpone board exams. Parents, child rights bodies, several state governments have also made similar appeals to the centre to reconsider the plan to conduct offline CBSE board exams next month.
Meanwhile, states like UP, Haryana have on April 15 postponed the class 12 board exams. Haryana board has like CBSE, cancelled class 10 exams.
While Health Ministry postponed NEET PG which was scheduled to held on April 18, UPSC will conduct NDA. The candidates are demanding postponement of exam.

Telangana government Thursday decided to cancel SSC exams scheduled to be held from May 17. A memo from the School Education Department, referring to a note from the Chief Minister’s Office, said that the decision comes in the wake of the pandemic situation prevailing in the state as well as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) notification of April 14 that dropped class 10 exams and postponed exams for students of class 12. Following the increasing number of Covid cases the UP state government on Thursday announced to postpone the UP Board Exams for Class 10 and 12 this year till May 20, after which the new dates of UP Board examination will be considered once again.
While no examination would be conducted in this period, the Yogi government has also directed the closure of all government and private schools from classes 1 to 12 till May 15, 2021. The Central Education Ministry has already postponed the CBSE Class 12 board exams and cancelled the Class 10 exams amid growing concerns over the surge in Covid-19 infections in the country.
“Amid the rising cases of coronavirus in the state capital, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken some major decisions to curb the ongoing situation in Uttar Pradesh. Under this the state government has announced to postpone the UP Board Exams 2021 for Class 10 and 12 till May 20, 2021. The new dates of UP Board examination will be considered in May. No examination will be conducted during this period. The Yogi government has also directed the closure of all government and private schools from classes 1 to 12 till May 15, 2021,” read a statement issued by the state information department.
Earlier this week the state government had ordered the closure of all government as well as private schools from class 1 to class 12 till the end of the month. With as much as 22,439 new cases reported in the state, the active cases count is now around 1.30 lakh.
After CBSE class 12 board exams, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG) 2021 has also been deferred until further notice. Administered by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), NEET-PG 2021 was scheduled to be conducted on April 18, 2021. Read more

The Haryana board class 10 exams have been cancelled and class 12 exams have been deferred. The results of class 10 students will be announced based on internal assessments. The Uttar Pradesh government today decided to extend the closure of educational institutes across the state till May 15. Consequently, the Board of High School and Intermediate Education Uttar Pradesh exams of class 10, 12 have also been postponed till May 20, as per PTI. Read more
Amid the continuing Covid surge, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday announced that all Class 5, 8 and 10 students be promoted to the next class, without taking any examination, with a decision on Class 12 PSEB exams, which have already been postponed, to be taken later, based on the emerging situation. Dr Jagbir Singh, chairman of BSEH, said, “The state board is all prepared to conduct the board exams as per the schedule. However, the final decision will be taken after the meeting with the education minister, which is scheduled to be conducted today i.e on April 15.” Read more
Following Wednesday’s announcement, Gerry Arathoon, Secretary of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) said CISCE will also “review” the situation and make a decision on the ICSE and ISC exam dates “at the earliest”. Read more
According to the Ministry’s statement, CBSE will prepare the Class 10 results based on an “objective criterion”. Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams,” the Ministry said. The Karnataka government on Wednesday said it has not taken any decision on cancelling the state board SSLC exam. This comes against the backdrop of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelling the 10th standard and postponing the 12th standard examinations due to the prevailing coronavirus pandemic.
The Maharashtra government would study and discuss the CBSE’s move of cancelling its Class 10 exam before taking any such decision for the state education board exams, minister Varsha Gaikwad said on Wednesday. The state School Education Minister made the statement in a televised message. Read more

Sanyam Bhardwaj, controller of examinations, CBSE, told indianexpress.com, “The decision to cancel class 10 board exams has been taken less than a month before the scheduled board exams which were to begin on May 4. The board will work on devising the evaluation method as soon as possible and inform the schools accordingly so that they have enough time to complete the processes necessary for releasing the results in time.”
