Online registration for Amarnath yatra begins from April 15

The 56-day yatra to the 3,880-metre cave shrine of Amarnath in the south Kashmir region is scheduled to start from the two routes on June 28 and will culminate on August 22.

The online registration for the annual Amarnath yatra through the Baltal and Chandanwari routes will begin on April 15, an official said on Monday. Nitishwar Kumar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) said pilgrims would have to register at www.jksasb.nic.in by filling in their details in the online application form and attaching a photograph and compulsory health certificate.

He said health certificates issued by doctors and medical institutes authorised by the state governments concerned after March 15 would be accepted. “The steps yatris need to follow for the online registration have been put on website www.shriamarnathjishrine.com,” the official said.

The CEO further said pilgrims could download the required permit for the yatra after their applications were duly processed. The pilgrims would have to carry original photo identity card and health certificate.
