The award also plays into Zalando’s sustainability strategy, do.MORE, and is an opportunity for Zalando to leverage its platform to facilitate collaboration across the industry; putting the spotlight on brands that share its vision.
International brands can apply for the award on or before May 4. The winning brand, to be announced on August 13 at Copenhagen Fashion Week 2021, will receive a prize of €20,000 as well as a partnership with Zalando in developing an exclusive capsule collection.
The collection will explore sustainability solutions in design across materials, production processes, technological solutions, and traceability with the aim to gain learnings that can be shared with the industry. To further support the winning brand in its business growth, Zalando will make the brand available to its more than 38 million active customers across 17 European markets.
Three finalists will be chosen by an international jury consisting of industry thought-leaders, leadership representatives from Zalando, and the Copenhagen Fashion Week show committee on May 27. All three finalists will receive €10,000 for production costs and become part of Copenhagen Fashion Week’s show schedule, which will take place on August 10-12. The jury members will closely review each brand’s sustainability strategy, collection, and level of dedication to sustainable advancements and innovation.
